“The Siege at Old Fort Niagara” was an historical reenactment in the summer of 2009, celebrating the 250th anniversary of the British takeover of Fort Niagara from French control. Located just north of Niagara Falls, Fort Niagara was the gateway to the fur trade routes of the great lakes until the Erie Canal was built in 1825. “The Siege” connects this history with present-day Niagara Falls.
