“Dear Me” is an ontological journey, in which the deer-woman protagonist continuously toggles between inside and outside, color and black-and-white, and real and imaginary. Prized for its alacrity, innocence and elegance, the deer is often depicted in world mythology as a trickster and shape-shifter, and hunted and taxidermied as well. The house symbolizes the self, and has been considered to be the center of western culture since the end of nomadism. The tree represents personal growth, connection, and longevity.
